2006 NJMLA X-Mas Party

The annual X-Mas party was held at the Iron Horse restaurant in Westwood, New Jersey.
About 42 members and guest attended.

As in years past the food was excellent and the raffle prizes flew out the door. Rich Kickinski was the big winner as far as number of prizes. It seemed some times as though his tickets were the only ones in the bucket.

Awarded at the party was a plaque to Jeff Davis of J & B Lock and Alarm of Closter and Hasbrouck Heights for his 2 years of service as the out going president of the NJMLA.

A special thanks to all who donated gifts.

The 2008 X-Mas party was held at the Iron Horse Restaurant in Westwood, New Jersey.
We had about 50 members and guest attend.

All went well and everyone had a good time.

The second “Walter Lascar” Award was presented this year to Pete Sarailian who has been a locksmith since about 1976. He started in the Bronx and moved to Fort Lee, NJ where he is still plying his trade. This award recognizes the person who is dedicated to our trade and has always helped the organization continue to function. Pete has been our treasurer for almost 20 years straight.

2009 NJMLA X-Mas Party

The 2009 party was held at Houlihans place located in Ramsey New Jersey. It was a different feel to the party this year after having been at the Iron Horse for so many years. The food choices were changed and seating rearranged. Everything was great and we will probably go here again next year.
As always, we raffled off all the donated prizes and had our 50/50. Rich Kickinski again won his share of the booty.

This year we gave a special award to Jim Miller who has represented Medeco and Arrow in his time as a manufacturer’s rep.
It was our way saying thanks and showing our appreciation for all he’s done for our organization. He was always available to answer any question, go the extra mile and help when ever needed.
He retired after a long career in the industry.

Monhegan Sun Casino Trip

Monhegan Sun in Connecticut was the destination of our second NJMLA casino trip.

Nearly 50 members and guests took the trip to the casino to try their luck at the slots and tables. The ride to the casino was spent playing games and relaxing. At the casino each person was given a $10 food voucher toward one of the many eating establishments. We also received a free ticket to play on the money wheel as you enter the casino. With this ticket you can win between $1 and $250. Most people won $1 or $5 but I will tell you, one person did hit for the $250.

Everyone had a great time, either playing the games, eating or catching the show. (I did the show, the buffet and the slots. For you old folks, I saw Frankie Avalon, Bobby Rydell and Fabian.)

The ride back was very quiet as we had all had a long and enjoyable day.

NJMLA 50th Anniversary Cruise

The North Jersey Master Locksmith Association celebrated its’
50th anniversary with a dinner cruise in the New York Harbor.
Sailing out of Weehawken, New Jersey, the boat sailed past the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and in view of the beautiful New York Skyline.

There were about 60 people present including members, their spouses and industry guests.

Besides the wonderful dinner, dessert and dancing, it was such a warm night that we could sit on the upper deck and watch the skyline go by.

The highlight of the night was the first “Walter Lascar” Award. This award symbolizes a locksmith who has dedicated himself to advancing the values and professionalism of the locksmith industry and has always given of himself to promote the locksmith craft.
This first award was presented to Walter Lascar Sr. who has been a locksmith for nearly 50 years and has always offered his help in any and all ways needed.

NJMLA Flea Market 2009

The Fifteenth annual NJMLA Flea Market was held at The Garfield Boys Club in Garfield, New Jersey.

This year we had almost 45 vendor tables along with the 3 competition tables.
Again, it was a very good turn out with 50 or so shoppers arriving at the 9:00am start time and many staying till 12:00pm for those last minute negotiations in price.

Trophies were given for the contest with some people this year winning more than one . Raffle prizes went off each ½ hour. Also this year we had an auction of some products that were coveted by many and so they went to the highest bidder.

The kitchen was open this year and had coffee, rolls and buns for breakfast and soda, sandwiches, burgers and fries for lunch.

As is our policy, we donated $1600 to the Special Olympics.
In the past we sent money to the Wounded Warriors, (injured soldiers from the mid-east war) and Challenger Softball of Saddle Brook. ( only softball league in Bergen County for special children)
