You should Ask…

There are many questions you should ask when inviting someone into your home to provide you with security for you and your family. Here are a few that we find to be helpful in picking a Locksmith.

1.    Are you licensed? The State of New Jersey requires all Locksmiths to be licensed. Ask to see their license when they get to your house. If an employee is operating under their employer’s license, get the license number. All licenses must be issued in the state of New Jersey by the division of consumer affairs. This is a precaution to protect you in case of a problem. If you would like to check a license online you may go to http://www.state.nj.us/cgi-bin/consumeraffairs/search/searchentry.pl.

2.     Are you insured? This is to cover you in case something gets broken.

3.     What is your guarantee? Guarantees differ from shop to shop..ask.

4.   Before you start, what is the total price for the job?  There are a few companies that are operating in the state that quote one price on the phone and another price  when they are completed. Sometimes this may be a few hundred dollars. A good tech will be able to foresee many problems before the work starts and give you a pretty good estimate on the work. Complete prices sometimes cannot be given over the phone .

5.   Do you offer any discounts?  Ask for a senior discount !!(if you are a senior)
